# thirdshift > thirdshift is a free, open-source (MIT) command-line factory that turns GitHub issues into ready-for-review pull requests with unattended coding agents. It runs Claude Code, Codex, Antigravity CLI, Grok Build, Muse Code or OpenCode, logged in as you, in isolated Git worktrees. Each change is implemented, reviewed against the issue and the repository's standards, and kept mergeable and passing CI. The humans are the Day shift: they shape work into issues and review the pull requests. The agents work the third shift. A Ticket run takes one GitHub Issue URL and normally delivers one pull request; a Spec run works through a Spec's Tickets in dependency order into one Spec PR. Architect, Pickup and Security runs find, take and audit work when your operating system's scheduler starts them. thirdshift is a single Rust binary for x86_64 Linux (Rocky, Ubuntu and WSL2) and Apple Silicon macOS. It needs `git`, an authenticated `gh` and one supported coding agent CLI. Install, then start a Ticket run from a clone of the issue's repository, on the branch you want the pull request to target: ```sh curl -LsSf https://github.com/JacobStephens2/thirdshift/releases/latest/download/thirdshift-installer.sh | sh thirdshift setup cd ~/repos/widgets thirdshift https://github.com/acme/widgets/issues/7 ``` ## Docs - [User manual (Markdown)](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/JacobStephens2/thirdshift/main/docs/guide.md): installation, commands, configuration, workflows, logs and scheduling, in one file - [User manual (HTML)](https://thirdshift.app/docs/): the same manual, with a section index - [README](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/JacobStephens2/thirdshift/main/README.md): what thirdshift is, how to install it and a first run - [Glossary](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/JacobStephens2/thirdshift/main/GLOSSARY.md): the meaning of Ticket run, Spec run, Repair, Delivery, Self-merge and the factory's other terms - [How thirdshift works](https://thirdshift.app/how-it-works/): an engineer's guide from GitHub issue to reviewed pull request - [Architecture](https://thirdshift.app/architecture/): diagrams of what runs where and which steps an agent or thirdshift does - [Prompts and skills](https://thirdshift.app/prompts/): the coding agent command lines, Session prompts and Factory skills thirdshift uses ## Source - [GitHub repository](https://github.com/JacobStephens2/thirdshift): source, issues and pull requests made by thirdshift itself - [Releases](https://github.com/JacobStephens2/thirdshift/releases): installers and binaries for each version - [Architecture decision records](https://github.com/JacobStephens2/thirdshift/tree/main/docs/adr): why thirdshift is built the way it is ## Optional - [Videos](https://thirdshift.app/videos/): short explainer videos for leaders, engineers and new users - [Home page](https://thirdshift.app/): an overview of the workflows, requirements and real pull requests
